Love Local, Love Late Night Market

After the success of our first ever late night opening event, on the 1st December, we are pleased to announce another event coming soon on Saturday 20thMay 17:00 -21:00. We are delighted that this event will join a whole host of other events and venues as part of The Late Shows culture crawl (www.thelateshows.org.uk).
‘Loving Local’ is the theme, and during the event you can take the unique opportunity to stroll around Newcastle’s historic Grainger Market after hours, with friendly stall holders offering great discounts, samples and promotions. The wide variety of shops on offer in the Grainger Market will allow you to see anything from belly dancers to a how to upcycle furniture demo and take part in a beginner’s guide to perennial gardening workshop.
The market place is also host to numerous street food vendors allowing you to take a culinary journey of the world in one place. So, there is no need to worry about rushing home for dinner, let us take care of it so you are fuelled up ready to enjoy the rest of the Late Shows.
On the night, we will also host a local art market with some of the shining stars of the North East having pop up stalls, where you can meet and chat with artists and buy their work.
The bustling marketplace will also be crammed with music and entertainment to suit all tastes throughout the evening. We are delighted to welcome back Lindy Jazz who will be putting a swing in our step, with Lindy Hop demonstrations and a Charleston ‘Dance-Along’ session. We have a line-up crammed with entertainers, musicians, live chef demos and DJs which will be released very shortly. Keep an eye on the Facebook event ( https://www.facebook.com/events/1497429696958489/ ) for more information.
You can also discover facts about the buildings past with regular heritage tours and even take the opportunity to see one of the Grainger Market’s biggest secrets…. the air raid shelter.
Finally, in keeping with the Love Local theme we will be fundraising for our newest neighbour within the market the Newcastle West End Foodbank on the night.
So, grab a drink from our pop up bar and celebrate all things local and late with us!
